Edward Williams

Secretary

Edward is one of the founders and Managing Director of Cagni Williams which offers a contemporary, fully sustainable and design led architectural approach to the built environmental problems which we now face. Cagni Williams specialises in unique projects for specific clients, often with unusual or complex briefs and/or sites with particular constraints and with specific neighbour or public interest, cultural and community elements.

Edward started the studio in 2011 after 20 years working for Hopkins Architects where he was an equity partner. Completed projects include Glyndebourne Opera House (UK), Hospitality Stands for Goodwood Racecourse (UK), a new Chemistry Faculty Building for Princeton University (USA), and the new Macmillan Cancer Treatment Centre for UCLH in London (UK). Subsequent work has included one of the two NHS Proton Beam Therapy centres (also for UCLH and completed 2022) and a major acute hospital for Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust (completion 2024), as well as offices and multiple residential projects.

Edward has served on the board of Bedales Schools, the RIBA (where he was also a Trustee), and was the RIBA Honorary Librarian and is a founding director of the British Architectural Library Trust, a New York based charity that supports the RIBA Collections.
