John Nevin has been a partner in the Real Estate and
Projects group at Slaughter and May since 2006
having joined the firm in 1995. He has acted
extensively on acquisitions and disposals of all types
of property interests, on significant development
projects and on major lettings. His clients include
investors, occupiers, developers, livery companies,
charities, hotel owners, housebuilders and banks.
He is listed as a leading individual in the real estate
section of Chambers UK 2026. John is a member of
the Hall of Fame for corporate occupiers, is
recognised as a leading individual for development
and as a key lawyer for investment in the
commercial property section of Legal 500 2026. He
is recognised as a notable practitioner in IFLR1000
2025 and is also listed in Lexology Index 2025.
John is a member of the City of London Law Society Land
Law Committee and the contributing editor for Lexology
In-Depth: Real Estate Law. John is also the Chair of the
firm’s Community and Pro Bono Committee and was
formerly chair of the firm’s Risk Committee.
John is Deputy Chair of the trustees for Scene & Heard,
an award-winning charity and theatre company, he is a
trustee of the Pembroke College Settlement, a charity
affiliated with Cambridge University which provides
community services and projects in Southwark, and was
formerly a parent governor at The King Alfred School.
